El objetivo de este artículo es presentar la investigación historiográfica de las traducciones de la literatura checa al español publicadas en México, o sea, la traducción literaria de una lengua minoritaria (checo) a una lengua mayoritaria (español) como parte de la comunicación entre dos culturas (a primera vista) lejanas. En la primera parte, se explican bases teóricas y métodos empleados para el estudio historiográfico de las traducciones literarias basado en la búsqueda bibliográfica y análisis paratextual. Los resultados se presentan en dos secciones, primero, en forma de fragmentos de entrevistas con los traductores de los libros que forman parte de nuestro corpus. Esta fuente testimonial sirve para la posterior reflexión acerca de las cuestiones referentes a la sociología de la producción de la traducción literaria en México. En la segunda parte de los resultados, se expone un panorama comparativo, tanto cuantitativo como cualitativo, de las traducciones checo-mexicanas y mexicano-checas publicadas hastael año 2019. La finalidad es utilizar los datos obtenidos para observar el intercambio literario a través de las traducciones e identificar las particularidades de la producción de las traducciones de obras checas en México.

This article aims to present the historiographical research of translations of Czech literature into Spanish published in Mexico, i.e.,the literary translation from a minority language (Czech) into a majority language (Spanish) as part of the communication between two (apparently at first sight) distant cultures. In the first part, theoretical bases and methods used for the historiographical study of literary translations based on bibliographical research and paratextual analysis are explained. The results are presented in two sections, first, in the form of fragments of interviews with the translators of the books that form part of our corpus. This testimonial source is usedfor the subsequent reflection on the sociology of literary translation production in Mexico. The second part of the results presents a comparative overview, both quantitative and qualitative, of Czech-Mexican and Mexican-Czech translations published up to2019. The aim is to use the data to observe the literary exchange through translations and to identify the particularities of the production of translations of Czech works in Mexico.
