This contribution informs about roles of parents and peers in the content and process of adolescent self-definition. Research ( 167 girls, 134 boys, mean age 16.3 years) explored domains of self-representations which are related to adolescent significantothers - parents and friends. Respondents assessed their actual self (How I see my self), their perceived selves according to parents ( How I think that my mother/ father see myself), and selves according to friends (How I think that my friend /peers see myself). As an instrument, semantic differential, including 23 bipolar scales, was used. Moreover, adolescent self-esteem and life satisfaction were measured. Firstly, global similarities of profiles of assessments are described. Similarities between the actual self and self according to friends are evident. In regard to parents, adolescents actual self is more similar to assessment of their mother than to assessment of their father. However, there are gender differences: the similarit
