Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt erste Ergebnisse einer Dissertationsforschung vor, die sich mit dem Thema der Motivation der tschechischen Studierenden zum fachbezogenen Deutschlernen beschäftigt. Als Untersuchungshintergrund ist die bestehende Konzeptiondes Fremdsprachenunterrichts an der Masaryk Universität in Brünn von großer Bedeutung, deren Studierende zugleich die Probanden der Forschung sind. Die gesamte Dissertationsforschung besteht aus zwei Phasen, wobei in diesem Beitrag nur die Ergebnisse der ersten (qualitativen) Forschungsphase präsentiert werden. Im ersten Teil dieses Beitrags wird bündig die traditionelle L2-Motivationsforschung angesprochen. Weiter folgt die Beschreibung der eigenen Forschung, vor allem der qualitativen Phase, die dieMotivation der Studierenden zum Deutschlernen mithilfe der halbstrukturierten Interviews untersuchte. The article presents first results of a dissertation research project covering the motivation of Czech students to learn German as a foreign language. Important background of the research project is the present concept of foreign language teaching at theMasaryk University in Brno, at which the test persons study. The dissertation research project itself comprises two phases, of which the results of the first (qualitative) research phase are to be presented in this article. The article starts by shortlysummarizing the traditional motivational L2-research. Thereafter, the own research is being described, with an emphasis on the qualitative phase analyzing the motivation of the students to learn German by dint of semi-structured interviews.
