Im Beitrag „Kontinuierliche und nachhaltige Professionalisierung von DaF-Lehrkräften durch Fort- und Weiterbildung“ werden zunächst zentrale Entwicklungstendenzen sowie aktuelle Herausforderungen im Bereich der Fortbildung thematisiert. Diese gelten als Schlüsselfaktoren für eine nachhaltige Professionalisierung von Lehrkräften auch im Bereich Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF). Die 11 Beiträge des Heftes – bestehend aus theoretisch-konzeptionellen Überlegungen, Forschungsarbeiten sowie reflexiven Praxisbeiträgen – geben Einblicke in die jeweiligen regionalen Besonderheiten der Fortbildung von DaF-Lehrkräften sowie in konkrete lokale Herausforderungen und Bedarfe. Auf Grundlage von Befunden aus verschiedenen Ländern wird die Fachdebatte zur Professionalisierung durch Fortbildung aus einer international-vergleichenden Perspektive weitergeführt.

In the artcle, which deals with the continuous and sustainable professionalisation of teachers of German as a foreign language through further education and training, the authors outline important trends and current challenges in the field of long-term professionalisation and in-service teacher training. The eleven articles cover theoretical and conceptual discussions, empirical studies and practical considerations, highlighting regional characteristics, specific challenges and needs with regard to in-service training for teachers of German as a foreign language. Based on findings from various national contexts, this issue promotes international and comparative debate on the professionalisation of GFL teachers.
