The conference was organized by the Department of English and American Studies of the University of Pardubice. Scholars from Czech and foreign universities came to Pardubice to present a wide range of contributions, to share their research findings and to discuss various issues related to the concept of 'framing'. In two main sections, i.e. Literature and Cultural Studies, Teaching/Learning English and Linguistics, the participants analysed and discussed topics of interculturality and intercultural communication; categorization with regards to genre, fictionality, gender, or race; classroom discourse; student teachers; and corpora studies.
