At the present time we are witnessing the process of global reform in education. This especially concerns education in the natural sciences. One of the most important features of this process is an approach to education as an independent construction ofknowledge. In this report the basic aspects of constructivist conception of education in natural sciences are discussed. Educational process is described as an interaction of four factors: teacher, student, educational process and contents of education .One of basic demands of transformation is to substitute the recent conception of teaching with the model, which considers the student as an active and autonomous person. The constructivist approach in education prescribes a completely different role forteachers and students in the educational process. The teacher becomes a manager, mentor, helper. Students are active components. They independently search for, classify, analyse, rate, and criticise information. They discuss their knowled
