    V stat&apos;ye predstavleny rezul&apos;taty issledovaniya, tsel&apos;yu kotorogo bylo otsenit&apos; vospriyatiye roli mezhkul&apos;turnogo posrednika (MKP) glazami shkol&apos;nykh uchiteley i budushchikh uchiteley – studentov pedagogicheskikh fakul&apos;tetov. Ponyatiye mezhkul&apos;turnogo posrednika, mezhkul&apos;turnoy (kommunikativnoy) kompetentsii, mezhkul&apos;turnoy kommunikatsii yavlyayutsya segodnya ves&apos;ma vostrebovannymi v oblasti metodiki prepodavaniya inostrannykh yazykov. Odnako sleduyet priznat&apos;, chto yedinoobraziya v ispol&apos;zovanii dannykh terminov i ponyatiy ne nablyudayetsya. V etoy svyazi teoreticheskaya chast&apos; stat&apos;i natselena na analiz funktsionirovaniya dannykh terminov v sfere nauchnoy i metodicheskoy literatury. V prakticheskoy chasti stat&apos;i opisany rezul&apos;taty provedennogo issledovaniya, materialom dlya kotorogo posluzhili otvety na voprosy ankety, vypolnennoy 96 respondentami. Pervuyu, studencheskuyu gruppu respondentov sostavili bakalavry i magistranty pedagogicheskikh fakul&apos;tetov trekh cheshskikh i odnogo rossiyskogo vuzov. Vtoraya gruppa – uchitelya inostrannykh yazykov, rabotayushchiye v cheshskikh shkolakh. Avtory stat&apos;i sravnivayut pozitsii praktikuyushchikh i budushchikh uchiteley po razlichnym 197 parametram: otsenka roli mezhkul&apos;turnogo posrednika; uchastiye v situatsiyakh mezhkul&apos;turnogo posrednichestva; stepen&apos; podgotovki respondentov k roli MKP; rol&apos; vysshey shkoly v podgotovke uchiteley k vypolneniyu dannoy funktsii i dr. Osnovnoy metod analiza poluchennogo v khode anketirovaniya materiala – metod otkrytogo kodirovaniya. Analiz pokazal, chto kak uchitelya, tak i studenty vysoko otsenivayut rol&apos; mezhkul&apos;turnogo posrednika v sovremennom obrazovatel&apos;nom prostranstve. Prichem deyatel&apos;nost&apos; MKP v ikh predstavlenii boleye mnogoplanova po sravneniyu s tem, kak ona opredelyayetsya v dokumente Soveta Yevropy «Obshcheyevropeyskiye kompetentsii vladeniya inostrannym yazykom: izucheniye, prepodavaniye, otsenka». Uchitelya, obladaya bol&apos;shim opytom, privodili bol&apos;she primerov razlichnykh mezhkul&apos;turnykh situatsiy. V to zhe vremya studenty pedagogicheskikh fakul&apos;tetov v bol&apos;shey stepeni podgotovleny k vypolneniyu roli mezhkul&apos;turnogo posrednika, chto svidetel&apos;stvuyet o tom, chto v vysokikh shkolakh etomu voprosu segodnya udelyayetsya bol&apos;sheye vnimaniye, chem prezhde.

    Intercultural mediator role through teachers’ perception

    The article presents the results of the study aimed at assessing the perception of the role of an intercultural mediator (ICM) through the eyes of school teachers and future teachers – students of pedagogical faculties. The concepts of intercultural mediator, intercultural (communicative) competence, intercultural communication are in great demand today in the field of teaching methods of foreign languages. However, it should be recognized that there is no uniformity in the use of these terms and concepts. In this regard, the theoretical part of the article aims at analyzing the functioning of these terms in the field of scientific and methodological literature. The practical part of the article describes the results of the study, the material for which was the answers to the questions of the questionnaire carried out by 96 respondents. The first, student group of respondents consisted of bachelors and undergraduates of pedagogical faculties of three Czech and one Russian universities. The second group consists of foreign language teachers working in Czech schools. The authors of the article compare the positions of practicing and future teachers on various parameters: assessment of the role of an intercultural mediator; participation in situations of intercultural mediation; the degree to which respondents are prepared for the role of the ICM; the role of higher education in preparing teachers to perform this function, etc. The main method for analyzing the material obtained during the questionnaire is the open coding method. The analysis showed that both teachers and students appreciate the role of an intercultural mediator in the modern educational space. Moreover, the activities of the ICM, in their view, are more multifaceted in comparison with how it is defined in the document of the Council of Europe &quot;Common European Competencies of Foreign Language Proficiency: Study, Teaching, Assessment&quot;. The teachers, with more experience, gave more examples of various intercultural situations. At the same time, students of pedagogical faculties are more prepared to play the role of intercultural mediator, which indicates that universities pay more attention to this issue today than before.
