The aim of the paper is to introduce theoretical perspectives on the topic of school prevention and to present research results within this area. The text of this paper describes the influences on the risk behaviour of children, experience with risk behavior prevention, the occurrence of risk behaviour and how these problems are perceived by teachers who are in the position of prevention methodologists. The paper is based on partial results of the project Readiness of Students? and Fresh Graduates? from the Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia, to Solve Educational Problems of Pupils, and on the research aimed at the implementation of primary prevention at primary and lower secondary schools. The data were collected from 110 teachers, out of which 40 were primary school teachers, and 70 were in the position of the prevention methodologist in different primary and lower secondary schools in the South Bohemian region.
