The paper describes the motivation, process, obstacles and rewards of construction lexicon within the frame of the international project Lexicon. The goal of the project in which research teams from more than nine countries work on national lexicons of terminology used for description of various situations in lessons of mathematics is to create a tool that would enable communication about lessons of mathematics in the research and professional community in the different countries as well as cross the borders. The lexicon should not only provide a rich list of terminology but each term should be illustrated by several examples of what is actually meant including video segments to illustrate the point and also by non-examples to show what the term does not refer to. The presented paper describes the system and the process of production of national and international lexicon as well as obstacles which come across and the way of overcoming them.
