Authentic language tasks and innovative teaching methods in a simulated environment - experiences resulting from the Russian Language Terminology Course
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The article introduces the CBL-Lang method – the Cognitive-Behavioural Learning Model for Language Acquisition.Teaching languages is challenging, especially when students need to be prepared for real-life, demanding situations. Developed at the Language Training Centre of the University of Defence in Brno and tested in the Russian Terminology Course, the CBL-Lang method offers a new way of strengthening Russian language teaching by helping students cope with complex tasks. It combines traditional language teaching with insights from neuroscience, psychological strategies, and advanced technologies, aiming to maximize the effectiveness of language production. The method is based on the ideas of Noam Chomsky, who stresses the importance of critical thinking, understanding systems, and finding practical solutions in both research and teaching. His well-known quote sums it up well: "We shouldn't be looking for heroes, we should be looking for good ideas."
