Standard Departure Paths Optimization in Accordance with RNAV Specification to Reduce Noise Pollution
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The trend in development of flight navigation and currently extended use of area navigation in standard departures enables us to direct the noise produced by air traffic at and above rarely populated areas. The construction of new standard departure paths with RNAV specification does not depend only on the layout of land radio-navigation stations and beacons, which gives the designers more freedom of choice. The paper analyses the standard departure path in Birmingham which leads over the town of Balsall Common where the noise has a negative effect on the local population. The aim of the authors is to redesign the flight path, more precisely part of the path, so as to deflect the dense concentration of departing aircraft from the densely populated area to northern parts of the city. Using a simplified model of a section of departure path, the authors could simulate the scatter of aircraft and their concentration on that path. The validity of practical usage has been successfully confirmed upon the verification of the model.
