The article deals with the problem of selecting locations for landing the helicopters or airships. These locations should comply with strict requirements concerning slope gradient of the terrain and distances from both natural and man-made terrain features acting as obstacles. One of the documents setting such requirements is the NATO standardization agreement STANAG 2999. Among methods capable of searching for landing sites is modeling using geospatial data. The text describes the process of creating models in ArcGIS Pro with ModelBuilder tool which can work as a graphical modeling language. To search for a landing site in a selected area of the Czechia, everal models were created and described in a detail. One of the analysis results is presented. The method of searching locations suitable for landing can be effectively applied also for the airships. Nowadays, the airships are on the rise because they provide large cargo capacity and other capabilities compared to other means of transportation.
