Evaluation of the fotma tion of the lean meat of the belly meat part in relation to sex of pigs
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The tests included 194 final pig hybrids of the genotypes currently used in the Czech Republic in a balanced sex. Evaluation was focussed on the formation of the lean meat of the belly in relation to sex. The belly in total and the EU belly reached in barrows the weight of 7,85kg and 4,35kg, respectively, and in gilts 7,66kg and 4,12kg, respectively. In barrows the belly accounted with practically identical weight of the carcass for a higher share, i.e. 9,96% as compared to 9,56% in gilts. In terms of percentage the gilts had a statistically significantly higher share of lean meat in the EU belly, namely by 3,32% as compared to barrows. All measurements showed a higher total area of the belly in barrows in comparison with gilts. The comparison of the percentage share of the meat area and the total area in the individual points of measuring revealed that gilts reached a statistically evidently higher value as compared to barrows.
