Analysis of external environment is applied when company needs to know its surroundings and set organizational goals or formulate its strategy. There are several methods to describe external environment. These methods create a database for subsequent method - SWOT analysis. SWOT analysis is one of the most frequently used tools of strategic management and also the tool that integrates the results of the external analysis, in which are formulated opportunities and threats, and the results of internal analysis that describe the strengths and weaknesses. Some weaknesses of SWOT analysis are shown in the paper and the methodology, which can help evaluate results from partial external analyses by means of AHP method, is proposed. The results show that the company's opportunities can be expected in the technological factor, and the threats can be anticipated in the competitors and legislative factor. Customer factor can be found in both, in opportunities and in threats.
