WORKPLACE BULLYING: IMPLICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVEMENT

  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

Workplace bullying is a pervasive issue with significant ramifications for employee well-being and organizational effectiveness. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of workplace bullying and its implications for education, serving as a foundation for non-medical educational institutions. Utilizing the Negative Acts Questionnaire (NAQ-R), data were collected from a sample of 585 healthcare employees. The age range of the entire sample was from 24 to 64 years (mean age 49.49 years; SD 10.40). The findings underscored the widespread nature of workplace bullying across industries, prompting a call for action to address this issue. Strategies proposed include the implementation of preventive programs and the provision of supportive resources to improve the work environment. Importantly, this study highlights the relevance of these findings for educational institutions, emphasizing the need for flexible educational programs that focus on emotional intelligence and stress management to equip workers with essential coping skills for the challenges of modern work life. Furthermore, these results serve as a basis for non-medical educational institutions to disseminate awareness of this phenomenon and equip their students and employees with appropriate strategies to recognize and combat unethical behaviour in the workplace. Long-term education and training in coping skills should be integrated into lifelong learning programs to ensure continuous personal and professional development among employees.
