Pragmatique de la traduction : politesse en françis et en tchèque du point de vue fonctionnel

Ma contribution traite la question de la traduction de phénomènes de politesses du français en tchèques sans réduir leur fort potentiel communicatif. Je me focalise sur la traduction des offres, l'acceptation et le refus dʹune offre, les salutations. Je compare les équivalents de système aux exemples du corpus parallèle digital InterCorp. Lʹobjectif de ma contribution est d'évaluer les énoncés équivalents du point de vue fonctionnel. Les énoncés équivalents diffèrent tant formellement que sémantiquement, mais ils réalisent la même fonction et intention communicative. Dans le cas contraire, le succès de la communication est menacé dʹun malentendu ou même dʹune offense. Lʹanalyse des traductions contemporaines permet de prouver que le concept « de la fonction à la forme » du Cercle linguistique de Prague reste toujours actuel.

The paper discusses the expressions of politeness in French and Czech. It contrasts politeness in French source texts and their Czech translations within the framework of the functional theory of translation. The analysis examines the strategies to translate polite expressions of the offer, acceptance and refusal of the offer, salutations without omitting their strong communicative potential. It contrasts the French-Czech system equivalents and the expressions from the literary style excerpted from the digital parallel corpus InterCorp. The aim of the paper is to determine which expressions fulfil the same function in the source and the target text, despite their formal or even semantic differences. If the function is not preserved, the communicative act might result in misunderstanding and offence. The analysis of the recent translations refers to the timeless concept “from the function to the form” introduced by the Prague School (Prague Linguistic Circle).
