The paper deals with processes of special education intervention in children with physical and multiple disabilities in early childhood. The research design is based on qualitative methodology using four case studies. The analysis compares the work options of a special educator from the perspective of two different facilities in Czech Republic - children centres and early age care centres. The goal of the research is to analyse the means of special education intervention, the process of planning, documentation and evaluation. Four participants from four institutions were chosen into the research sample. Semi-structured interviews, observation (combination of unstructured observation and video analysis) and documentation analysis were chosen as methodsof data collecting. The data analysis was implemented using an inductive content analysis (based on open coding procedure) and comparison of particular cases.
