Education and training are talked about more in today's society than ever before, and the importance of education is now emphasized in all areas of human activity. With increasing migration, aspects of intercultural education are also gaining in importance, which is reflected in the educational process. The authors of this text have long been interested in the issue of education in connection with the teaching of foreign language pupils and students in Czech schools. We also deal with this topic in our paper, which examines the importance and value of education for pupils and students with different mother tongues in the Czech Republic, focusing on individuals with different mother tongue originating from Ukraine. The main goal of the research survey is to specify the importance that pupils and students attach to the acquired education and how they evaluate the process of education in schools in the Czech Republic. We assess the issue not only from the perspective of pupils and students, immigrants from, the Czech socio-culturally close environment, Ukraine, but the study is supplemented by the view of Ukrainian families on the value of education and education of descendants, i.e. 2nd generation immigrants. The research is carried out within the framework of qualitative design, the method of in-depth interviews with respondents. The research sample consists of Ukrainian pupils, students, and parents of Ukrainian nationality. The obtained data are analysed using coding techniques used in the grounded theory.
