    Mobile digital devices, the internet, and social networks. These are concepts without which many people today cannot imagine their lives. The desire to obtain new information, share life achievements, all in combination with perfect &quot;time management&quot; can be in the imagination of many of them. Web and mobile applications seem to be a suitable tool that fits into the current concept of education and takes into account other requirements of today. There is a large number of available web and mobile applications. It will be important to implement them appropriately in the educational process and to integrate them into the awareness of potential users - teachers and students at all levels of education, but also other people desiring to obtain information in specific areas, especially in the field of algorithmization and programming. In the paper, we will deal with approaches to the use of these applications in the development of computational thinking in the field of algorithmization and programming at the international level. Web and mobile applications can be very beneficial in the context of supporting the fulfillment of the vision of the Digital Education Strategy until 2020, which is currently being implemented in the Czech Republic. Their possibilities of use are wide. Then it just depends on choosing the right one.
