The Use of Digital Technologies in the Teaching of Matematics at Primary Schools
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Today, digital technologies are an integral and a natural part of everyday life. Today's students and teachers commonly use digital technology not only in teaching. Teachers use digital technologies at all levels of schools, in kindergartens, at primary, secondary and tertiary schools. They use them for administrative work, for preparation for teaching, in teaching and for archiving educational results, for communication with the public, especially with pupils and their parents. Digital technologies affect the world, people's thinking, learning goals and the learning environment. However, digital technology needs to be used efficiently and with quality. Pupils need to be guided in the use of technology to help them grow personally and achieve life goals. The same applies to pupils with disabilities. Currently, the "Digital Education Strategy" is being implemented, which is called digital literacy. With this comes a change in the existing Framework Educational Programs and the Teacher's Standard in all areas of education in the Czech Republic. This change also applies to the teaching of mathematics at primary schools. The use of digital technologies in the teaching of mathematics at primary schools is necessary and brings a large number of benefits. The need to use digital technologies increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. As early as March 2019, the personal presence of pupils at the school was banned and schools were forced to switch to distance learning for a certain period of time. Schools have returned to full-time teaching "for a while", but currently distance teaching has been taking place for a long time. The article deals with the experience of pupils and teachers with the use of digital technologies during full-time and distance learning in the field of mathematics. Digital technologies are currently increasingly used in the teaching of mathematics at primary schools. In teaching mathematics, students use not only school computers and tablets, but also their own smartphones and tablets. With the use of these devices, teaching becomes more hattractive and fun. Thanks to these technologies, teachers have faster feedback from students. Digital technologies are used to repeat the curriculum, practice the curriculum, hand in assignments, test students and other activities. Pupils work individually but also in groups. Digital technologies are used in the teaching of mathematics at all grades of primary school. In this article I focus on specific examples of the use of digital technologies in teaching mathematics based on my experience and the experience of primary school teachers. Empirical research was carried out by survey methods (questionnaire, discussion, interview). The work is focused on the use of digital technologies in the teaching of mathematics in full-time and distance learning.
