Experiential education has a lot of shapes over all the world. We can characterize two basic streams by the two organizations with three decades history. Association for Experiential Education originated in 1977 in the U.S.A., Vacation school of Lipnicein the same year in Czech. One stream (presented in The Journal of Experiential Education) is characterized by expeditions or by stay in non-civilized environment, by the exacting physical activities, adventure and challenge (including rope courses of Outward Bound organization). Different scope (presented in Gymnasion: the journal for the experiential education) which obtain international vigilance, too, is based on games, model situations, experiences not only in modus of risk, but intensity and variability: physical games, psychological, strategic games, creative workshops, graphic and music production, meeting with visitors, especial contemplativity and social festivity.
