The objective of the pilot study was to find out whether pupil's self-perceived fitness obtained from questionnaire had impact on the attitude toward PE lesson. Students of the PE teacher education attended 2 regular practices at schools as part of theirstudy programme. At the end of one randomly chosen PE lesson, "Diagnosis of PE lesson" questionnaires were distributed. We analysed 1714 questionnaires obtained from pupils attending secondary and high schools. Boys from secondary schools with high self-perceived physical fitness (SPF) manifested positive relation in pupil's role. Boys from high schools with high SPF manifested positive relation in pupil's role and emotional dimension. Girls from high schools with high SPF manifested positive relationship in cognitive dimension, emotional dimension and in overall dimension. Association of pupil's self-perceived fitness was manifested in positive overall relationship toward PE lessons only in high school girls.
