Importance of Strategic Management in E-commerce

E-commerce is becoming more and more open in the business world. Therefore it is necessary to choose a strategic approach in this field, which has a specific area in e-commerce. The main aim of paper is therefore to evaluate the importance of strategic management of enterprises primarily focused on e-commerce for their long term development. The main objective of the research is to evaluate the importance of determinants of strategic management that is attributed by enterprises primarily oriented on e-commerce. A research sample of enterprises was set up based on following criteria in the research: enterprises primarily oriented to e-commerce in B2C selling goods, headquarters in the Czech Republic, existence of the company for at least seven years, legal form of business Joint-Stock Company and Limited lability Company. The following research methods were used to fulfil the main aim: personal interviewing method by using qualitative research (semi-structured interviews), situational analysis, financial analysis, analysis of internal documents. The paper identifies the strengths and weaknesses of enterprises that are primarily focused on e-commerce.
