Growing European plum trees in the Czech Republic has a rich tradition. At the beginning of the last century the plums were the most important fruit species, but in year 1929 was half the orchards crashed or damaged by strong frost. In the year 2014 was in production orchards harvested 5 750 tons of plums and the total plum harvest of that year was 23 392 tons. For example, in the year 2011 were plums grown on 1 940 ha. Despite the high popularity of European plums are Japanese plum trees practically unknown. Japanese plums are abundantly sold in the supermarket in the last years but there are not commercial plantings. Japanese plum trees bloom early and they are damaged by late frost. In this study some pomological and qualitative characteristic of some plum cultivars were evaluated. In this study was measured vitamin C from 7.39 - 87.14 mg/kg. The weight of fruits were measured from 18.68 to 78.96 g.
