The aim of our study was investigation of antioxidant capacity in different cats/portions of tissues from backyard (village) chicken. The analyzed samples were from one of household in rural of the Czech Republic. Antioxidant capacity were evaluated in breast, thigh (muscle and skin) and wings of backyard chickens by using free radical scavenging ability 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH assay). In general, the meat chicken from backyard rearing system content antioxidant capacity in low level. Inclusion of more diversity plant sources material may require to feeding system of such birds.
