At the Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Králové, we began a research concerning students? programming capabilities evaluation with regard to the input test created by Saeed Dehnadi two years ago and the first results were presented at the ERIE conference in 2012. In 2006, Saeed Dehnadi designed a test focused on programming aptitude. His test aims to predict success or failure of novices in the field of programming. We have used Dehnadi?s test to test our first-year students at the beginning of their first programming course. Last year we also conducted this research at the Faculty of Science, University of Hradec Králové. In this paper we discuss the results obtained. We devote attention not only to the total results gainedfrom the examination tests in comparison to the Dehnadi test of programming capabilities as well as to the results obtained at the Faculty of Informatics and Management, but we also concentrate on the results gained from each partial exam
