This paper deals with the possibility of using e-learning in education for employees of municipalities. The published surveys (listed in the paper) show that the level of management of municipalities is very low or that there is only very little use of modern management methods. Therefore, it is neccessary to focus on improving managerial skills of managers of municipalities. This process could be in two-phases, while in the first phase it is necessary to provide employees with basic management skills,and then followed by further expansion of knowledge and skills. Traditional educational methods have advantages, but on the other hand also disadvantages, such as time-consuming, strict schedule, lack of offices, travel expenses, etc. One of the ways tosolve this problem especially in the first phase, is the use of e-learning.
