The paper summarizes the 13-year-long process of ICT implementation in higher education in the Czech Republic. It is structured in three main parts dealing with (1) the Internet as a source of information for general and educational purposes, (2) the process of ICT implementation in education at the faculty and (3) the history of e-learning conference&competition held at the faculty. In Part 1 authors provide comparison and analysis of data which were collected by the questionnaire from the first-year university students in bachelor and master programmes of Informatics. The questionnaire focused on approaches how the freshmen had searched for information about the faculty, entrance exams and related processes, it monitored their ways to the Internet access, previous experience in using ICT for educational purposes, studying in on/offline courses, definition of the term e-learning etc. In Part 2 the process of ICT implementation running at the faculty since 2000 is described, i.e. how t
