The paper addresses the effect of the height and the distance of the noise control measure (NCM) used alongside a railway track and the resulting dampening of the equivalent A?weighted sound pressure levels LAeq at the sampling point (SB). The LimA prediction software was used for creating the model of a real site in Praha-Hlubočepy where the Brens Barrier low height noise barriers (LHNB) have been used along a railway track in the Czech Republic for the first time. The model of the investigated site involved the creation of LHNB in the as-built form. To be able to assess their efficiency, another three noise barriers of different height were modelled. Cross sections illustrating the sound energy propagation were created in the LimA software. Based onthe obtained values, the assessment of the efficiency of the used NCM types was made. The comparison was made at the sampling point SB and, simultaneously, at another two measurement points corresponding by their location to the position
