Vehicle Design Analysis for Child Head Protection in Pedestrián-Vehicle Collision
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Accident analysis showed that bonnet, boundary area between bonnet and fender and windshield surrounding area of car often have consequences with severe head injuries in accidents involving pedestrians and bonnet involving young pedestrians respectively.Height, mass and position of centre of gravity with respect to bonnet leading edge of car are the main factors that cause this fact. Shear of young pedestrians involved in such a collision is a very high. Important factor involving risk of head injury is design of bonnet structure. The article deals with design possibilities leading to an improvement of passive safety of young pedestrians. Structure modifications of both bonnet skin and sub-skin frame are considered in this work. Four bonnet modifications are examined by a mathematic simulation of child headform impact test as prescribed in prepared pedestrian protection directive. Benefit of each modification to child head injury risk reduction and is assessed and limitation of this
