Use of Hybrid Data Collection in Traffic Accident Analysis
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This study evaluates the applicability of a hybrid spatial data acquisition technology integrating mobile laser scanning, photogrammetry, and RTK GNSS positioning for detailed documentation of vehicle following traffic accidents. The main intention was to assess the accuracy, operational flexibility and robustness of the outputs under real and simulated conditions. The focus was on capturing and identifying vehicle deformations in high detail. Data collection was performed using an Apple iPhone 15 Pro with a viDoc RTK GNSS receiver, and reference measurements were obtained using a Leica RTC360 terrestrial laser scanner. Comparative analyses demonstrated that the hybrid approach, especially when using RTK GNSS, Image Overlap trigger, Pix4D Cloud or Pix4D Matic processing, and fused point clouds, consistently yielded the lowest mean error and standard deviation. The typical measurement errors ranged from 1–2 cm, comparable to or better than existing literature for similar applications. The method proved robust to moderate suboptimal conditions (such as twilight or occasional capture artefacts) and required minimal user training. The study focused on documenting vehicle deformations and their immediate surroundings; further research is required to validate the approach for comprehensive accident scene documentation. The results demonstrate that hybrid mobile acquisition with RTK positioning is a practical and accurate tool for documentation of vehicle damage after collisions.
