This text is focused on an analysis of the relation between three concepts: Roma, school, and small Romani children. The discussion is based on specific situations in schools in the Czech and Slovak Republics to which teachers, experts, film makers, and social instituzions respond. They are attempting to resolve the complex situation of education of Romani learners in schools in compliance with the current trend of promoting inclusion. What can be considered a enefit of this article is the aoutlining of the analysis of these issues via film, which represents ů in an artistic manner - the "struggle" between a Czech teacher and parents fo Romani children at the beginning of the 1950s over the future of a small Romani child. In the authors´opinion, the analysis of this documentary, conducted with the use of the qualitative method, provides students of pedagogy, social pedagogy, and andragogy with a means for deeper understanding of the situation of Romani children as well as a chance to obtain not only theoretical but also practical - and above all, ethical - competences for their work.
