Název v původním jazyce
Antimicrobial modification of polypropylene with natural bioactive compounds from Carum carvi l.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The presented work deals with the antibacterial modification of polypropylene with biologically active substances in essential oils. Antimicrobially modified polymers protect against a negative impact of pathogenic microorganisms that can seriously affect consumers from the view of health damage. Antimicrobial polymer films based on polypropylene modified by carvone and essential oil extracted from Carum carvi L. immobilized on solid carrier talc were prepared by a thermoplastic process. The results showed significant antimicrobial activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains (Table 1). The effect of the mentioned polypropylene modification on its mechanical properties were determined by stress-strain analysis. In addition, migration studies were carried out.
